it is a great olympics in many ways, especially for chinese people. closing celemony is as successful as the opening ceremony. watched the broadcast in NBC. I have heard some controversals and harsh comments related to this game in NBC during the past two weeks. first this lip-syncing thing and the faking of the 29 firework foot, then the age issue with the chinese women’s gym team. I was expected to see some of the negative comments as it closes the broadcasting today. but to my surprise, all i heard are very positive comments from nbc hosts and a geniue thanks to the chinese hosters for a successful event. This is defitnately a pleasure to note.

这个对CHINA很不友好的 BOB COSTUS 能说出今天的话，真是不容易，第一次把如此多的赞誉给了CHINA，而且看的出来不是做秀，真的是满怀感情的，很真诚，如果你们录了下来，可以重放下，看他的眼睛，很有感觉

在他之前的另一个嘉宾，不知道是谁，他的感情更丰富，好象激动的都要哭了，他甚至说，这么好的奥运，这么多的友好的人民，如果不是仅仅的2个星期，而是2个月，2年，甚至永远，该多好啊，看他的样子，的确是非常的激动。

这些语言和感情不是用钱能从美国主持人口中买来的，他们是通过自己亲身的感受来说出自己的体会的，在黄金时间，在所有美国人关注的时刻，表达了自己对中国的看法，虽然仅仅是通过奥运来体会的，但足够了，真的足够了，我们开奥运的目的已经100%的达到了，这是无法用金钱来实现的。

北京西单有一家小礼品店有条别出心裁的店规：凡是各界名人前来购物，一律不必付钱，只需以他的拿手绝招来证明他的身份即可。
一天，郑智来到这家店里，为了证明自己确是郑智，他就顺子拿起店的一只球放到地上，用脚轻轻一勾，照准门铃，飞起一脚，只见球飞到了二楼阳台，弹了下来。他照准门铃用头一顶，球又飞到了二楼阳台弹了下来，位置竟丝毫不差。老板看他踢得这么偏，马上招呼郑，请他挑选所需物品，不必付钱。
接着，又来了一个人，自称是谢亚龙。老板仍是照章办事，请他以绝招来证明身份。但来人说自己并无绝招。老板退一步说：“那你随便做些什么都行。”
来人尴尬不堪他说：“说实话，我什么都不会”
老板马上恭恭敬敬地请来人坐下，并连声说：“这就对了，您确是谢亚龙。东西您随便挑吧！”

I definately feel regret that the organizer made that dicision. it is like a fly drop in a pot of otherwise perfect soup. i am not sure how the organizers feel now.

many people are moved by what happen in parade that a 9 year old boy from 四川，that is so real, so touching, if using the same standard, i dont think he could be selected either. they could have easily selected someone cuter and say this is 是为了国家利益. but the fact that the boy is there in the parade scores a big point in the image of china.

hope everyone learned from this and move on.

NBC真是好人啊，总之，凡是挖鼻孔，打哈欠，煽扇子的有损中国形象的都删掉了。看了几个版本，目前来看，剪得最好的是NBC版本。绝大部分都是精彩的远景。然后转部分近景。每一个过渡段的时候都是重新回到鸟巢的航拍远景和北京夜景，非常舒服地过渡。有如NBA转播时候的暂停感觉一样，远景俯瞰体育馆淡出，在暂停完毕后再远景俯瞰切入体育场内。不去找观众席和主席台。几乎没有观众席上的扇子，抠鼻孔等丑陋镜头。近距观众镜头只有几个，都是一带而过。主席台上只有胡爷爷和罗格，布什等出现过数次以上，其他人只是在该国运动员出现时候才拍一下站起来的镜头。没有看到江爷爷的镜头和其他大陆领导人的镜头。剪辑得很紧凑，以至于去掉了木偶戏，京剧等不精彩的部分。

　　所以主播说有人打电话进去要求他们不要cut任何镜头的时候，文艺节目已经快表演完了。主播承诺不cut，结果冗长的队员出场仪式全有。有三个解说，其中第三位负责解说中国文化因素。凡是有看不懂的就问第三位，解说基本正确。解说每个国家的时候，言简意赅，言之有物，反映出做了很多功课，包括到格鲁吉亚时候都讲到今天（8号）俄罗斯坦克开进格鲁吉亚（刚发生的事情），讲到布什正与普京协商该事件。一些小国家，则谈谈其与美国有何关系，或者美国某人出生于那里或者去过那里等等。到美国的时候，提到布什是唯一一位在职总统参与国外开幕式的。并说布什说参与的原因有两点一个是与中国的建设性关系，其二是对中国人的尊重。每个国家的重点人物都马上抓住，如瑞士费德勒，西班牙纳达尔镜头给很长时间，罗马尼亚的网坛三美女。俄罗斯讲到沙拉波娃因伤退出，我是看了这个解说才知道。然后才是抓拍美女时间。

　　中国入场时候，详细介绍了四川地震小朋友的光荣业绩, 说是叫lin hao，9岁，救了两个小朋友，是英雄。

　绝对雷了美国人一把。提到中国有693名运动员，并认为可能金牌数超越美国。剪掉了运动员宣誓，裁判宣誓等没意思的东西。李宁的360度cut了一部分时间。

NBC评价：都是正面评价。场面极好时候用了stunning（极好的、极棒的）这个词。NBC的剪辑基本避免了CCTV导播的毛病，估计一是水平，二来NBC是录播，有12个小时准备。

　　个人评价开幕式一个字，雷。绝对雷到另外美国人。看了这个开幕式，估计大多数美国人心里都不愿再与中国成为敌人。因为表现出的组织能力和纪律性，令人震撼。那个长城长出红花，令人抓狂怎么实现的，结果谜底马上揭晓，每个砖块下都是人。个人感觉最震撼的是郑和下西洋的那段。配合四周看台最高处的海浪，太大气了。

　　　花絮：姚明是今天镜头最多的人。

　　开幕式完了后采访了姚明，两个问题，姚明回答得非常牛b. 一个是问对这个game（指的是本次运动会）有何感想，姚明真能说，说了一些场面话，希望能更加exciting。二是问姚明对手上抱的林浩的想法。姚明说林浩身上看到中国未来的希望，说自己都快要感动得哭了。采访记者转而把话筒伸向林浩，林浩跟着姚明说了一句thank you。又把演播室里的三位主播给雷了一小下。笑着说这个小孩也会讲一点英语啊。

　　姚明真是很牛啊，即兴采访用英语回答成这样，真的给中国人张脸。张艺谋应该感谢那个出主意把林浩找来的人，这个小孩给中国挣了非常牛b的正面形象。而作为中国人，为有姚明这样的同胞自豪.

国际各大电视台转播的信号都是BOB提供的，而央视大部分画面也是，但央视特许在鸟巢架设10个机位，因此央视版开幕式当中有些画面是自己加入只有大陆观众看，其他国家和地区不会有。所以大家不难理解上面提到的一些问题了。只想表达我对BOB外国导播的愤慨，以及我对于张艺谋的敬佩。 老谋子你确实是个人才，我再也不叫你农村戏专业户了，再也不说你江郎才尽了。你让我知道了一个国际频频获奖的大导演，果然不是浪得虚名。 如果说这些照片只能呈现出现场震撼的80%，那么此次开幕式BOB导播的垃圾，等于给我们期待了很多年的开幕式重重的抹了一笔黑。TO 

张导，你成功了，你震撼了世界

this is a game that the result is known even before the game, yet this is the game that has attracted probably the most viewers in china. winning is of course important, but sometimes the process is more enjoyable than the result and this is the perfect example.

it does not matter if usa beats china in a massacre style, it only matters if yao ming gets double double, and swinging his way to the basket and dump with a exclamation point with Yao style, it only matters if kobe dribble his way and do a reverse layup like magic show, it only matters if Lebron showed his inside and out game with a dizzling handling of balls and dish out ball that land in a perfect spot…

that is why i heard kobe gets as loud applause as, if not more than, yao ming. you know what does that mean, there is a saying that stated: yao is to chinese fans, is like great wall is to china.

sarah brightman and huan liu did a superb job singing this theme song in the opening ceremory of the beijing olympics. they gave this song a golden coated crawn.

especially, sarah brightman, she again proves she is one of a kind, 当她的极具感染力的歌声传出，有如天籁之音，给人暇想，有飘飘欲仙，如痴如醉之境界也。。

these days i can see there are more spaces in the parking lot and it is pretty easy to find a parking, regardless when you are coming. we were kinda talk about this today in a meeting, some said it is because of the oil price is going up crazy and lots of people just dont want to drive to work and save some gas. well, good try. some said it is because kids are in summer vacation and people are taking vacation with their kids, that might be more close to what it happened.

of course, the olympics is coming closer, it is a big deal here. may be lots of people are taking the olympics vacation now?

not sure how many live games i can watch, i think it will depends how well the american team is doing, if they are in final, no doubt there will be live show. otherwise, it is more likely to see a reply during the golden hours in late afternoon, and you need to avoid knowing the results before you watch the reply. I listen to the radio alot while i am driving and i am sure to hear something like “ok, if you dont want to know the score, please turn off your radio for 40 sec…”, i feel this is funny but also i think this is pretty caring for the hosters to do this, i would definately appreciated that.

the time is now, everyone especially chinese have been waiting for many years for this day, it is finally here.

the olympics will start 2008, august 8, 8 min, 8 sec i guess. that is 8-8-8-8-8, a very good number in china. it is so perfectly matched and the schedule could not be any better. I dont think when china lost to sydney in 2008, they would have thought that we have another chance 8 years later.

Microsoft teamed with NBC to provide video streaming and hosting for olympics games. a whoppy more than 3500 hours of videos will be provided throughout the olympics. the technology behind is the latest Microsoft Silverlight. I have been amassed about what Silverlight have changed the world of web programming, and seeing some of the previews of the NBC olympics is a strong affirmation on what this thing is about. I think it is a matter of time that Silverlight will be everywhere.

The soccer game has actually begun. china is doing not bad. the man’s team tied with new zealand and the women’s team beats sweden 2-1. I watched the record in nbcolympics.com for this two games (well, not the entirety but saw all the goals). it was great, especally see the Silverlight HD video stream works like a charm.
